This summer I hung out in the Czech Republic in the lovely town of Běhařov with Sonya. Tina and her boyfriend Phill dropped by and Julia so, inspired by the movie Zombie Lake (1981), we decided to make a music-video called Making Fools, which is now up on Sonya’s website. It is my first completed track (so far, and not really indicative of what I’m into but it was made in one day with on a nasty hangover).

I found this amongst the 241 the comments on mininova for a movie torrent by the now infamous ‘aXXo’ who is known for releasing “quality” Hollywood movie rips. He seems to some how produce these while the movie is still in cinemas.

aXXo seems to have become the Robin Hood of the movie torrent scene and has many fans and rivals. By putting his name on the end of his releases it makes them easy to find but it is also in the spirit of the graffiti tagger who makes themselves notorious in a certain area. Living in Kreuzberg Berlin I know the tags ‘1UP’, ‘Just’ and ‘THC’ well as they are on every street. This gives you a feeling of place I find in a large city.
This never stops being funny.
Last night I saw a movie that revolted me so much I could not watch anymore: Pink Flamingos (1972). I can’t remember when a movie had pulled such utter revolt from me to the point I was almost throwing up.
However, it has in a way inspired the Urban Uncle project and given it a style, ‘Trash’, which brings its own freedoms to create. All are encouraged to go out and film their own trashy dreams and ideas. This is what I believe the Punk or New Wave movement was about the “Just do it” attitude. But I digress…
